Daft Punk Profile
Daft Punk are a French electronic music duo made up of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter.
Formed in 1992, the duo released their debut album Homework in 1997. Combining elements of house music, techno, acid and funk, the record sold over two million copies worldwide within just a few months and produced the major club hit singles Da Funk and Around the World.
The duo followed this success with 2001’s Discovery, which marked a shift in style towards more of a disco/synthpop kind of house music. The album was a huge success, reaching number two in the UK, selling over 2.5 million copies and producing the hits One More Time, Harder Better Faster Stronger and Face to Face.
Daft Punk’s latest album, Human After All, was released in March 2005 along with the singles Robot Rock, Technologic, Human After All and The Prime Time of Your Life.
