Lily Allen is a Grammy Award-nominated British alternative pop/rock singer-songwriter and musician.
Allen became known after accumulating thousands of followers on her MySpace page, leading her to sign a contract with Regal Recordings. Her debut album Alright, Still was released in July 2006 and hit number two in the UK charts. The lead single Smile spent two weeks at number one, while LDN, Alfie and Shame for You all reached the Top 20.
She followed this success with 2009’s It’s Not Me, It’s You. It debuted at number one in the UK, Australia and Canada, and at number five in the US, and won Allen her first Brit Award. The lead single The Fear stayed on the UK top spot for four weeks, while the follow up singles Not Fair, Fuck You, 22 and Who’d Have Known all performed well.
Allen is currently taking an indefinite hiatus from music.
