Enya Profile
Eithne Patricia Ní Bhraonáin, better known as Enya, is an Irish singer-songwriter and instrumentalist.
The singer first became known after the release of her debut self-titled album in 1987. Although it was not a great commercial success the single Boadicea has since appeared on two hit US singles – The Fugees’ Ready or Not (1996) and Mario Winans’ I Don’t Want to Know (2004). By contrast, the singer’s second album Watermark was a big hit, reaching number five in the UK, selling over a million copies worldwide and spawning the UK number one single Orinoco Flow (Sail Away).
Since the beginning of the 1990s, Enya has released a further six studio albums and scored UK Top 40 hits with the singles Caribbean Blue, How Can I Keep From Singing?, Book of Days, The Celts, Anywhere Is, On My Way Home and Only Time – which was also a US Top 10 hit.
